Meet Carly and José Duarte, co-founders of Casera. While searching for their own holiday home in Cádiz, they found it impossible to choose just one destination. The whitewashed Pueblos Blancos offered quiet retreats, the coast unspoiled beaches, and Jerez de la Frontera an authentic Andalusian lifestyle. Wanting to experience the best of Cádiz as a second home destination was the spark that started Casera.

A Cádiz native, José has spent the past 15 years identifying, restoring, and developing homes across the province. He has built trusted relationships with agents, architects, builders, and artisans that form the foundation of every Casera home. As a certified real estate valuation expert through Spain’s Association of Appraisers (APTI), he brings deep market knowledge and an eye for potential. His earlier career in the Spanish Army’s Royal Guard and special operations, combined with a background in software development and cyber intelligence, informs the structure of Casera’s operations and co-owner platform.

Carly brings 20 years of experience in high-end interior design and renovations. She has served as Design Director for a leading Manhattan architectural firm and directed sales for a European luxury furniture brand. Since moving from NYC to Andalusia, she has developed a deep appreciation for authentic Spanish materials and craftsmanship, reflected in each Casera home.

Together, Carly and José lead Casera, combining local real estate expertise with international design and delivery experience, offering a considered path to holiday home ownership in Southern Spain.
